Weigh-in and Progress Pics

Had a weigh-in this morning, and I'm down another 1.2 pounds for 51.8 total.

For the healthy train contest, we had the option to take progress pictures. So, I did. I never took any official "before" pics. I have dug up a couple from last year that really caught my eye (and not in the good way).

In the first set (black clothes), I was down 26 pounds. The second set (with bonus cat tail) was taken yesterday: down 51.8 pounds.

Zip it!

So, last weekend, I went to a work function at the zoo. One of my coworkers/friends had this cute little zipper clutch/wristlet. I found them online, and ordered one today.
How cute is that? Zip it bags are here. Shipping over 10 bucks is free, which is always a big bonus in my book. Can't wait to get it! It'll be a convenient little bag for traveling on my vacation in 2 weeks! They also get bonus points for making me think of Austin Powers with the name. :)

Aquatard!

My awesome friend Becky* in Seattle has become quite the water aerobics pro. She suggested the aquatard to me a few weeks ago (Yes, that's really what it's called). From Junonia: the aquatard.






I finally got it yesterday (in turquoise). I'm super excited to try this out at water aerobics tonight. On top of being plus-sized, I am long-torsoed and carry most of my weight in my bottom half. So, I end up tugging most regular suits out of my backside all the way through my workout! Annoying! It wasn't cheap and Junonia deals are hard to come by (believe me-I am a pro at finding deals online). I certainly hope it's worth it!

*Side note: I get to visit Seattle for the first time in two weeks. I also get to see Becky for the first time in probably 14 years? Fun stuff! So geeked!

Milestones and "Graduation"

So, last week, I hit a big milestone. 50 pounds. My total loss is -50.6 pounds in 6 months.

I will now go into a "graduate" program with Target Metabolism. In this program, I will have monthly weigh-ins with the Bod Pod and quarterly metabolism testing for a year. It's much cheaper than the full program that I've been doing so far. I'm a bit nervous about only having one weigh-in a month, but I'll also have the healthy train weigh-ins every two weeks.

I have also joined the Y, and I'm taking water aerobics classes several times a week. I can't tell you how much I love water aerobics. It's amazing how much energy I have and how much I can tell the difference in my body already. After about 4 weeks, I was surprised to find quite a bit of muscle tone in my legs. I will also probably start doing other classes at the Y. I'm still working up the nerve for those though.

I am also working on a plan to blog more often, so stay tuned!

What I Wore (last week!)




So, I've been rocking the dresses lately since it's SO incredibly hot here in the midwest. Man, I hate summer. It makes me surly. Do you see what it does to my hair??Anyway, I wore this outfit last Wednesday. I really need to get a better set up for pictures. My husband and I work different schedules, so I don't feel right dragging him out of bed in the morning to take my picture. I haven't found the right set-up for the self-timer yet. So, iphone pics in the bathroom it is! :)


Dress, sweater, bracelet, and shoes are all from Avenue (haha not planned that way-I got them all at different times). Necklace is from Macy's. I love it, but it kept pulling my hair all day. Must find a remedy for that.
